EDWARD G. GRUNAWALT, CLU

A native of South Bend, Indiana, Ed earned an accounting certificate from South Bend College of Commerce, attended Indiana University and graduated from Purdue Pension School and Louisiana University Pension School. He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps from 1951-1953, attaining the rank of sergeant.

Ed, who began an insurance career in 1954, has earned numerous professional awards. He also has served as president of General Agents and Managers Association of North Central Indiana, the South Bend Association of Life Underwriters, and the local Estate Planning Council. Ed is a registered representative of Ameritas Investment Corp (AIC).

In 1994, Ed was inducted into the Union Central Life Insurance Company Agents Hall of Fame. The Agents Hall of Fame, Union Central's most prestigious honor, is bestowed upon long-time members of its sales force who demonstrate professionalism, integrity and service within the industry, company and community.

His community activities have included: Past President and "Man of the Year" for South Bend Chapter, American Heart Association; and Former Division Head, United Way.

Ed and his wife, Mary Lou, are life-long residents of the South Bend area. They have four children and ten grandchildren.
